Over the 50+ years that TECHLITE® has been the recognized leader of melamine foam design, engineering and supply for more than 50 years. Our sound absorptive architectural products can be manufactured in any shape, size, or thickness to meet your specific application needs. We can also coat with your exact color in mind. Our engineering staff is here to help you with material choices, drawing specifications, design elements and implementation of your custom project. has been in business, we have built upon a range of melamine foam-based acoustical products and have remained a recognized global leader in the world of sound absorption and attenuation alike.

TECHLITE’s new and improved melamine foam-based Drop-In Ceiling Tiles are a new generation of high-performing, sound controlling acoustic tiles that absorb and diminish unwanted sound, compared to their polyurethane foam, mineral fiber and glass fiber counterparts, at a more efficient rate from an acoustics standpoint. Because our ceiling tiles are 100% melamine foam instead of harmful fiberglass tiles, they not only enhance the aural experience thus room acoustics, but the overall health ambiance of the room in question, too.

Long reverberation times and excessive echoes impair speech intelligibility and create discomfort for while in the space. Studies have shown that excessive noise and reverberance at the office reduces work efficiency, raises stress levels and diminishes employee satisfaction. Because of the inherent open-celled nature of the melamine foam, our tiles absorb both direct and early reflections immediately as the sound wave penetrates the ceiling. Therefore, TECHLITE® Drop-In Ceiling Tiles are the leader in sound absorption. In accordance with ASTM C423-17 Standard Test Method for Sound Absorption and Sound Absorption Coefficients by the Reverberation Room Method, at a mere 2 inches thick our Drop-In Ceiling Tiles achieved a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 1.00, or 100% sound absorptive in the speech frequencies when in mounting Type E (ceiling grid).

From an aesthetics standpoint, Architects can design effective acoustical benefits into any space without comprising their creativity. TECHLITE® Drop-In Ceiling Tiles provide you the end-user with the ultimate solution to meet stringent architectural/aesthetic demands. Our ceiling tiles are the natural choice when you’re looking for a way to combine contemporary styling with exceptional sound absorption at a competitive price. They were designed and made available for a suspended 9/16″ or 15/16″ drop ceiling grid solution by incorporating a rabbited edge around the perimeter face of the tile to ensure the ceiling tile is flush to the grid. In addition to absorbing sound at a high rate of acoustical efficiency, TECHLITE® Drop-In Ceiling Tiles conceal and protect plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems. Each 2ft x 2ft ceiling tile at 2 inches weighs approximately 0.33 pounds making them incredibly easy to install, thus lowering construction costs in the process. Contractors nationwide have offered nothing but praise for the ease of installation and uniformity of TECHLITE® ceiling tiles.

These combined attributes make TECHLITE® Drop-In Ceiling Tiles a unique and welcoming architectural option.
