In Any Given Room More Often Than Not, Treating The Ceiling Can Often Lead To The Best, Most Viable Acoustical Solution For Controlling Noise, Which Is Commonly Defined As Unwanted Sound In The World Of Acoustics.

The option to suspend sound-absorptive treatment as baffles from the structural and/or finished ceiling offers design flexibility as well as provides a multitude of acoustic solutions related to the architectural design. Disparate from, say, treatment direct-attached, glued, screwed, etc., to the finished ceiling or wall, suspending sound-absorptive baffles from the structural ceiling provides the room in question several additional acoustical benefits. One remarkable benefit to gain from vertical baffle installation is the diffraction effect, where the sound wave is dissolved and evenly dispersed throughout the space as a result of the wave moving across the edges and sides of the baffle, thus the noise becomes subjectively less-intrusive to the listener. In addition, because the baffle is suspended vertically, a larger surface area of the baffle is left exposed to the sound field. As a result you have an end-product that is acoustically-superior to the traditional direct-attached ceiling and/or wall panel.

Therefore, TECHLITE® Round Hanging Baffles should be used in noisy, excessively-reverberant, acoustically-uncomfortable environments where the intended aesthetic does not accommodate a hard lid or acoustical tile ceiling, or where the ceiling on its own is not providing sufficient sound absorption to the space. By supplementing the existing finished ceiling with TECHLITE® Round Hanging Ceiling Baffles, the acoustical signature of the environment can be dramatically improved with a reduction in reverberation (echoes) as well as the overall perceived sound level.

The baffles should be suspended as close to the sound source as reasonable, and should be evenly dispersed throughout the sound field as opposed to larger clusters to enhance the diffraction effect and contribute to a more diffuse, balanced sound field. Available in both standard and custom sizes and colors, TECHLITE® Round Hanging Baffles can be hung from aircraft cable and corkscrew hangers in minutes.
