The TECHLITE® High CAC Fusion Ceiling Tile Product Line Provides A Means Of Noise Control At A Very High Level Of Performance.
There are many materials and products that provide noise control solutions for any given application. Different products manipulate sound waves in different ways. Commonly, there are two primary approaches to control unwanted sound that could work separately, or in tandem; sound absorption and sound isolation/blocking.
The High CAC Fusion Tile was developed to improve speech intelligibility by lowering room reverberance, as well as increasing speech privacy by limiting noise intrusion from or into adjacent noise sensitive areas. Often on projects, the layout is such that a noise-generating space sits directly-adjacent to a noise-sensitive space. Furthermore, to exacerbate the issue the interior demising walls are stopped short and are not extended all the way up to the underside of the structural ceiling, in an attempt to save on cost of materials, labor, etc. thus promoting an unwarranted acoustic anomaly known as Flanking Transmission. Noise generated in one room wafts up, penetrates the ceiling and travels readily through the ceiling cavity, up and over the demising wall and into adjacent space.
To create privacy between these two rooms, the sound needs to be blocked/isolated, not just absorbed via ceiling tiles, wall panels, carpet flooring and the like. Sound blocking requires mass, mechanical isolation, decoupling and air spaces. To that end, TECHLITE® High CAC Fusion Ceiling Tiles provide the end-user superior performance. Maintaining a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) 0.85, and a Ceiling Attenuation Class (CAC) of 45, the Fusion Tile is the leading performer on the acoustical market.
TECHLITE® melamine foam and the gypsum board tiles are both ASTM E 84 Class A fire rated.
The prefinished gypsum board tiles have a non-combustible, Fire-Shield G gypsum core. The non-combustible gypsum core assures fire safety with a 1 1/2- and 2-hour fire rating achievable depending on installation.
