The TECHLITE® Designer Lotus Acoustic Panel in Obsidian introduces a refined, petal-inspired form that softens interior architecture while delivering disciplined acoustic control. Its radiating curvature establishes a sense of symmetry and flow across wall and ceiling applications, offering architects and interior designers a visually balanced solution that enhances spatial composition. For sound engineers, the dimensional relief promotes increased surface interaction, contributing to stabilized reverberation and improved speech intelligibility.

Manufactured utilizing Basotect® Ecobalanced Melamine Foam, the Lotus panel provides high-performance broadband absorption within a lightweight and precision-fabricated format engineered exclusively for interior environments. The open-cell structure reduces reflected sound energy, enhances occupant comfort, and improves overall acoustic consistency in corporate offices, hospitality interiors, educational facilities, and cultural venues. The material is inherently flame resistant and achieves Class A fire-rated performance per ASTM E 84, supporting code-compliant interior specifications.

Beyond performance and safety, the TECHLITE® Designer Lotus Acoustic Panel aligns with sustainable design initiatives. Basotect® Ecobalanced Melamine Foam is produced through a reduced carbon footprint process and may assist project teams pursuing LEED-related credits, including low-emitting materials and responsible material sourcing strategies. By integrating environmental accountability with architectural sophistication and acoustic engineering, the Lotus panel supports comprehensive interior design objectives.

Obsidian Coloration & Visual Character

Obsidian is a deep, dark charcoal acoustic foam with subtle blue undertones. Depending on lighting conditions, it can range from a rich charcoal gray to a dark navy hue—and when installed in high ceilings or low-light environments, it presents as visually black.

The result is an acoustic material that integrates seamlessly into contemporary architecture while delivering the performance Techlite® is known for. For applications requiring an ultimate, rich black appearance, Obsidian panels may be coated utilizing Techlite®’s proprietary paint system.
