Techlite® High CAC Fusion Ceiling Tiles in Obsidian™ are designed for architects, interior designers, and sound engineers seeking to balance sound containment with refined interior expression. Manufactured from Basotect® Ecobalanced Melamine Foam, these ceiling tiles address both airborne sound transfer and in-room acoustics, making them well suited for offices, studios, healthcare spaces, and other performance-driven interiors.
Engineered to deliver a high Ceiling Attenuation Class (CAC), these tiles help limit sound transmission between adjacent spaces while also contributing to overall acoustic comfort within the room. For design professionals, this enables greater flexibility in open or shared environments. For engineers, it supports controlled acoustic separation. For interior teams, the Obsidian™ finish introduces a deep tonal ceiling plane that complements contemporary material palettes and layered lighting strategies.

Obsidian™ Coloration & Visual CharacterObsidian™ is a deep, dark charcoal acoustic foam with subtle blue undertones. Depending on lighting conditions, it can range from a rich charcoal gray to a dark navy hue—and when installed in high ceilings or low-light environments, it presents as visually black. The result is an acoustic material that integrates seamlessly into contemporary architecture while delivering the performance Techlite® is known for. For applications requiring an ultimate, rich black appearance, Obsidian panels may be coated utilizing Techlite®’s proprietary paint system.
