Designed for interiors where acoustic performance must complement architectural expression, the TECHLITE® Designer Offset Diamond Acoustic Panel in Obsidian introduces dynamic geometry with refined sound control. The angular, faceted layout creates visual movement across wall and ceiling planes, allowing architects, interior designers, and sound engineers to integrate absorption seamlessly into the overall design narrative. This is not applied acoustics as an afterthought—it is intentional acoustic architecture.
Fabricated utilizing Basotect® Ecobalanced Melamine Foam, the panel provides exceptional broadband absorption while maintaining a lightweight profile ideal for interior wall and ceiling installations. The open-cell structure supports speech clarity, reverberation control, and occupant comfort in commercial offices, hospitality venues, educational facilities, and cultural spaces. The material is inherently flame resistant and achieves Class A fire performance per ASTM E 84, supporting code-compliant interior design strategies.
Beyond acoustics, TECHLITE® Designer Offset Diamond Panels contribute to responsible specification goals. Basotect® Ecobalanced Melamine Foam incorporates a reduced carbon footprint approach and may support LEED-related initiatives, including low-emitting materials considerations and sustainable material sourcing strategies. For project teams balancing environmental accountability with acoustic excellence, this solution aligns performance with sustainability.
Obsidian Coloration & Visual CharacterObsidian is a deep, dark charcoal acoustic foam with subtle blue undertones. Depending on lighting conditions, it can range from a rich charcoal gray to a dark navy hue—and when installed in high ceilings or low-light environments, it presents as visually black. The result is an acoustic material that integrates seamlessly into contemporary architecture while delivering the performance Techlite® is known for. For applications requiring an ultimate, rich black appearance, Obsidian panels may be coated utilizing Techlite®’s proprietary paint system.
