The TECHLITE® Standard Single Wave Panel in Obsidian offers a refined, rhythmic surface pattern that delivers dependable acoustic absorption with architectural subtlety. Its consistent wave contour introduces soft dimensionality across interior walls and ceilings, enabling architects and interior designers to incorporate sound control without overwhelming the visual composition. For sound engineers, the undulating geometry enhances sound-wave engagement, supporting balanced reverberation reduction and improved clarity.
Fabricated utilizing Basotect® Ecobalanced Melamine Foam, these panels provide high-efficiency broadband absorption within a lightweight and structurally stable configuration intended exclusively for interior installations. The open-cell matrix minimizes reflected energy, improves speech intelligibility, and stabilizes acoustic environments in offices, education spaces, hospitality interiors, and collaborative work areas. The material is inherently flame resistant and achieves Class A fire-rated performance per ASTM E 84, supporting interior life-safety compliance.
In addition to acoustic and fire performance, TECHLITE® Standard Single Wave Panels align with sustainable design priorities. Basotect® Ecobalanced Melamine Foam is produced using a reduced carbon footprint methodology and may assist in pursuing LEED-related credits, including low-emitting materials and responsible material sourcing considerations. This integration of acoustic function, visual cohesion, and environmental responsibility makes the Single Wave Panel a versatile solution for performance-driven interiors.
Obsidian Coloration & Visual CharacterObsidian is a deep, dark charcoal acoustic foam with subtle blue undertones. Depending on lighting conditions, it can range from a rich charcoal gray to a dark navy hue—and when installed in high ceilings or low-light environments, it presents as visually black. The result is an acoustic material that integrates seamlessly into contemporary architecture while delivering the performance Techlite® is known for. For applications requiring an ultimate, rich black appearance, Obsidian panels may be coated utilizing Techlite®’s proprietary paint system.
